Fur-bruary 27: Doug the Bowie Eyed Borsky

This is not a typical pro photograph of a pet. It is rather a good example of a typical pet photo “happy snap” taken by your humble dog “photog” for a future pet painting. Things to consider in the photo reference when a potential client would like to commission you to paint their pet such as natural light, sharpness, angle of the picture and background. Backgrounds “should” be clear of any distractions. The angle should be taken from a low at the pets level-preferably. Should never be blurry. And the use of a flash is definitely forbidden. If these rules are mostly followed then a fun and fantastic portrait will be created!

Doug the Bowie eyed Borsky painted with oils in procreate. Handsome dude I must say.

Beautiful young Omaha couple pose perfectly with gorgeous Husky dog!

OMG those icy blue Husky eyes are absolutely stunning! And check out that tongue! Once I pulled out the yummy provolone cheese slice, she was all ears! Cheese is the magic treat that makes most doggies instant models. She played and posed wonderfully for the camera. Never bored and very obedient. This is the perfect shot I was searching for. Beautiful fluffy dog with loving couple in a perfect pose. Sweet Lexie and her people family were such a delight to photograph!

Seriously Big Dogs in the Park!

My final post of dog portraits from the Omaha Dog Park Event. These are seriously big dogs. Big dog smile. Big dog paws. Big dog tongues. I had a St. Bernard when I was a kid. Her name was Zsa Zsa. My sister and I saddled her up on special occasions and went for 'pony' rides on her(we were 2!!) Then when I was in grade school, we adopted a collie named Lady. I took her to my 'beauty shop' and groomed her til there was no end. She and I were bffs. And then! During my teenage years growing up in Norway, we selected the perfect Airedale Terrier from my family who bred Airedale's. Nikki was his name and dressing him up in people clothes to take him for a walk down the street was what young teenage girls did when we were up to no good. He was a POOR thing! So big dogs are a huge part of my life, love 'em like crazy. My black lab Kenobi today is treated with sooo much more dignity. Take his name for instance, he is the family Jedi master of the home-no, I believe that title belongs more to Furby.
