Robots!

I have this thing for robots, I don't know what it is-the nifty 50's feel or the Tranformer's blockbuster bad ass Optimus Primus dude. They are just plain cool in my book. Here is my latest experiment. The first image is a basic flash shot of the toy-and the following are what can be constructed from such a plain jane image. My robot cube. I think it would be kinda cool blown up to a 30"x30" piece of art.

My Pets

So I was messing around with CS4-the trial was running out-it looks so good on my giant IMac screen. It's now added to my wish list for next Spring. Some of these I've posted before, but these are edited differently. The shot of Kenobi's nose is something I ended up loving. I think it's unique and part of my style for pet photography. When I shoot off a couple 100 shots and a lot look blurry to me, I'll take a closer look and find something quite nice.

Summer studio shots

Leia wanted some studio shots of her all fifteen and fabulous so this shoot took no more than 15 minutes-impatient teenager and all-but my beautiful teenager--I like to edit as little as possible, although sometimes I get carried away. Here are the results.

Chicago

Here are some of my favorite landscape shots from our trip to Chicago last Spring. Night photography is definitely a challenge. The city images are taken from the condo we stayed at. Swank place. It's currently for sale-$500,000. Drop in the bucket.

"Twilight"

This baby black squirrel stumbled across a coworker of my sister Lora and decided to take it and nurse the the lil orphan until he was grownup enough. My other sister Kay took care of it for a couple of weeks and then he was released into the woods of Council Bluffs where he befriended other native black squirrels. Leia and I transported the guy and took some images of him-of course, he was just irresistible. "Twilight" was as cute and nice as a kitten.

Project Belle

I was experimenting with CS4(trial-unfortunately) I have CS3 on my PC-which is terribly slow and frustrating-anyway the image quality of Belle isn't so great in my opinion-the timing was perfect but she's blown out and so I created this pop art experiment. Belle has a strong personality, so this vivid image just adds more 'color' to her character.

Puppycat portraits!

This is the set of photos I used for my painter projects. No-I did not TRACE over the image. This is traditional painting without all the mess and TOXINS!

Painter X Projects

Here is a series of painted projects that were turned in for my final. I like them all but I think Moxi (the gray and brown mutt like terrier) is the best! BTW these are displayed at the college-Metro Community College-Elkhorn campus. My instructor thought they were worthy for display. Huh. The graphics design/photography instructors are FANTASTIC. I've accomplished all this because of them. Thank you!

Flash Photography

So I purchased this amazing flash and I had my doubts and many discouraging moments. Kinda figured it out a little. Here are the results.

New Shoes

This shot was Leia's idea. I'm trying to copyright all of my future posted images. Gotta get the hang of shrinking my images also for web viewing. Kinda a lengthy process, but definitely worth it.

I took a painting class this spring and this was my first attempt at painting with Painter X. I think I love this new talent I have discovered.

After testing the computer downstairs, Leia became lazy and ate to much so we moved it back up to the official office we have created with homes for everything. No more orphans. Today I was a clean freak. Here is a picture of our office. Blik surface grahics loved it so much they thought it was worthy to post as the featured photo! I'm hooked on their stuff. It's rather cool.

Belle, Furby and Kenobi adventures

Here they are. They were all well behaved and not camera shy at all. Furbz and Kenobz have modeled before so they are starting to get the idea about the black box that makes odd noises. I'm still struggling with lighting and correct exposure. It's trial and error. That's okay with me. I must learn patience. Kenobi is tricky because he is black. Always need to adjust accordingly. Then there is Belle who is white. After about a 1/2 hour of sniffing around and investigating, the became comfortable and mellowed out. It was a good day.

A visit from Belle

My sister Lora asked LEIA to dog sit for her dog Belle. However it looks as if I've taken over the duties. Which is fine. She is a great test subject for me. It's a glorious spring mornin' and I plan to spend time in the backyard with some furry friends. Furby and Belle get along and are truly besties! New pix will be posted soon.
