Wedding Photographer Who Did A Great Job Threatened with 300k Lawsuit

This is a great example of why it's CRITICAL to protect yourself in the photography industry. GET insurance. And HAVE a contract. It doesn't matter what type of photography you do (weddings, couples, seniors, children, babies, PETS!) I have insurance. I am a legal business. And I have a model release form, BUT, I have YET to formulate a contract. I'm on this today. In this crazy world we live in, it would be CRAZY NOT to have one. Seriously.

Modern Blonde Pom

WET DOG!

CLEAN DOG!
So Furbz has been my wonderful convenient dog model and I have to say It's great practice to shoot a white dog, getting the correct exposure is critical. Another tool that I have been neglecting is my tripod! Seriously, a lot of the outdoor shots are without one because you need to be on the move with the animal. But shooting a indoor portrait using north window light AND a tripod is the ultimate and I need to form a habit of this. For this above shot on the bed I used my 28-75mm, ISO 800, f2.8 and 1/200. Wide open focal length to capture his fave spot on the bed. The foot, or the paw. LOL. I'm totally into these indoor shots WITH window light. It's his special spot in the home. This is where he feels the most comfy ist!:)

Mini Pet Portrait Session in the park

So this is a project in progress. I figure I gotta get this out there on a post so I can look at it and tweak it along the way. This isn't an OFFICIAL event and crappy weather may spoil everything, but it IS one event among three upcoming. There will be a contest and a costume event that is in the works. I'm donating quite a bit of my time and it is all worth it. I want these to happen so bad it hurts and I will do what it takes! Events that make people happy and that don't necessarily make me money yet brings me tons of exposure? Yep.

Black Lab Old Man Face magically transformed in CS5

FINAL EDIT. Curves and sharpening are key!
This was shot with a 24-70mm lens and edited in CS5 from a camera raw file. It's pretty amazing how a raw file that's under exposed and almost not worthy to edit can be magically transformed in Photoshop to a beautiful work of art. I try to carefully edit as little as possible on each image to be as efficient as I can and I believe any unique photograph of a pet that is properly exposed(sometimes) and creatively edited(most times) is indeed a work of art. I'm referring to all pet photogs out there!

Happy 18th Birthday Leia!

Happy 18th Birthday to my baby girl! I'm truly a proud mom today. She is the joy in my life and keeps me inspired to live life! Leia wants to study film and create movies! She's unbelievably talented and will be successful at anything she puts her creative mind to! This shot is one of my faves. I love the vintage feel of this image. Leia's certainly a keeper!
