After many attempts at setting up the still life studio and not quite getting the results I've been looking for, today was a good day. I discovered scraps of plexi glass, empty paint cans and basically treasures in the basement to achieve this fantastico glossy look. (stay away cats, this is no playhouse!) Natural north window light. And it's SOOC. No editing. I LOVE it. And I love the image of Miss Queen Buzzy Bee's Butt.

I've been selling vintage collectables on ebay since 2007 and it suddenly occurred to me that their store front page sucks. Really no way to customize it. It's very outdated and plain. I like simple and uncomplicated but I'm not plain Jane. (no offense to Jane). It's 2016 and I'm interested in creating unique store fronts for my website (NEW this year!), blog (NEW this year!), zazzle and finally ETSY. I will continue to sell select items on ebay simply because I know it and I've built up an amazing feedback score. But Etsy will allow me to create a truly unique store front look. My blog posts will display items for sale and some NOT for sale, some things I just have a connection with and I will not let go of. Depends on the feeling and of course the cuteness factor. My home is chock full of unique artisan pieces, flea market finds, travel souvenirs and thrift store GOODIES! Everything in it is mismatched and tells a story. (no I swear, I am not a hoarder) It's what I love and will love to share here through my photography.

New Name. Same Look. More Services!

Puppycat Photography announces new name change to.....

Kim Widmark. (soon to be kimwidmark.com-work in progress!)
I was looking to freshening up and simplifying a name that made sense! I wanted to keep the services I offered under one roof with one clear name: mine! The (cute and adorable) name 'Puppycat Photography' was too narrow and Kim Widmark is now a broader name concept. I will still be offering very limited on location photography services to clients, but my focus has been moving toward an online store selling products created by me made available to everyone. This includes my art and photography plus a seasonal collection of art that I have been in the process of restoring. One thing is for sure, the following 'about me' bullets still ring true and will never change:

• Collector of vintage salt and pepper shakers and a few lunch boxes.
• Hard core dog walker to a charming 5 pound blonde Pomeranian.
• Addicted to black coffee and cannot function without it.
• Studied art and fashion in London, England.
• Best mom EVER to a beautiful and talented daughter.
• Will rock out to The Misfits when editing images.
• Favorite holiday is hands down HALLOWEEN!
• Climbed highest mountain in Norway and survived.
• Lover of Chicago deep dish cheese pizza from Lou Malnati's.
• Pets are my motivation, inspiration and make me smile every day!

I am blessed to have found my eureka moment in life! Thank you for taking a look at my work! I really appreciate it!

Yes, this is me in my elf costume. A terrific illustration (by my late husband) of your humble dog photog.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I wish you all good fortune and many slobbery dog kisses!

Goodbye Spooky our forever Halloween black kitty cat

Adopted at five weeks old, he instantly became a part of our small family. He frequently sat at the dinner table with us, was dressed up in doll clothes and carted around the house in a baby stroller, entertained a classroom of second graders for a show and tell event and became the worlds best kitty cat to big sister Leia. I will miss the handsome kitty cat portraits of my baby Spooky. RIP SeeSaw, SumSop Pookers, Pooka Noo, Sushi AKA Spooky.

Beautiful young Omaha couple pose perfectly with gorgeous Husky dog!

OMG those icy blue Husky eyes are absolutely stunning! And check out that tongue! Once I pulled out the yummy provolone cheese slice, she was all ears! Cheese is the magic treat that makes most doggies instant models. She played and posed wonderfully for the camera. Never bored and very obedient. This is the perfect shot I was searching for. Beautiful fluffy dog with loving couple in a perfect pose. Sweet Lexie and her people family were such a delight to photograph!

Handsome Boxer doggie with awesome slobber chops!

I love dog chops! Tyson looks tough but is as sweet as a kitten! Super curious and inquisitive, he charmed the socks off of me with his handsome doggie chops and sweet as a puppy-kitten personality!
