Brothers and family dog portraits Omaha Nebraska
There's something about the bond between kids and the family pet. Clovis, who is a mix of Labrador Retriever and St. Bernard, is a die hard Green Bay Packers fan and loves his dinner with a big bowel of Cheerios. He's a special man with a mellow and lovable personality. He loves to go to the beauty parlor on special occasions and spends serious game time with his brothers. The connection is truly special and I tried to capture that in these portraits. Some are formal, but some are simply candid and artistic which is more of what I love to create. I had the opportunity to shoot with the 24-70mm Canon L lens, it's heavy and big(expensive), but razor sharp, lightning fast and simply and awesome portrait lens that I am now in love with. Thank you Clovis for being a fantastic model!

Elmwood Park Fall Portraits Omaha
I had a chance to rent a fabulous lens this weekend and tested it on a beautiful willing model! The Canon 24-70mm lens is sharp, fast and produces stunning images! I wish it wasn't so heavy and big. That's a serious downside but the good def outweighs the bad! I'll need to do some further research on this fab lens. It's something that needs to live on my camera body in the near future for sure!

Happy Halloween from cute puppies
Sorry I've been away. But today is a special celebration. I rented a fabulous lens to test for some research I've been working on. This is what it can do, create awesomeness. My puppy was a fantastic model for the day. This shot truly says it all-I love you mom and happy Halloween and all, but seriously-screw you for making me put up with this costume. I will describe in more detail later, and I promise to be more active on my blog. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Omaha Senior Portraits Charming Young Man October in the park
I am seriously in love with my lens. I underestimated this piece of driftwood. And the level of awesomeness that this camera (i suppose i deserve some credit too) delivers blows my mind. We were hoping for some unique sunset shots but I'll take an overcast day any day of the week. Ian was a fantastic model to shoot, very kind and patient! And truly a charming young man! More to come soon!

Steve Jobs-An American Inventor
I have this quote among many profound quotes that I refer to now and then scribbled in my 'journal' book: Remembering you are going to die is the best way to avoid the FEAR that you have something to lose. -Steve Jobs.
He was an visionary and an inventor who never gave up on creating art. It was simple and beautiful and revolutionary. His inventions changed the way we use technology. Yesterday we lost an American inventor. RIP Steve.

Maddison October Baby Portraits in the Park
An afternoon in the park for an hour with a young mom and her 9 month old beautiful baby girl Maddy was a delight to shoot. Attempted a Halloween themed shot using a giant pumpkin as a prop was a failure! She was absolutely terrified of it! So we stuck with some sweet and candid classic baby shots. More to come sooooon!!!

Dr. Seuss knew what he was talking about
The message fro Dr. Seuss is brilliant. It's tough to UN-slump yourself. And this is what he means:
From Dr Seuss’ Oh! The Places You’ll Go!
This blog post was inspired by an article from my favorite blog called virtualphotographystudio.com. It inspires me every day.
From Dr Seuss’ Oh! The Places You’ll Go!
Wherever you fly, you’ll be best of the best.Change is hard. Getting out of your comfort zone is hard. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it. Like with a diet, if diets worked, we'd all be fit. Being lazy is like a drug. Baby steps can make anything possible. And in moderation. I like to have a nice harmonious balance of all things. This is a great kid's book. But my all time favorite is 'The cat in the hat'. Now that's a cat I could live in harmony with!
Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.
Except when you don’t.
Because, sometimes, you won’t.
I’m sorry to say so
but, sadly, it’s true
that bang-ups
and hang-ups
can happen to you.
You can get all hung up
in a prickle-ly perch.
And your gang will fly on.
You’ll be left in a Lurch.
You’ll come down from the Lurch
with an unpleasant bump.
And the chances are, then,
that you’ll be in a Slump.
And when you’re in a Slump,
you’re not in for much fun.
Un-slumping yourself
is not easily done.

What I've been up to and favorite current quote of the week
In case anybody's been wondering what I've been up to it's this. My camera's been on the fritz and I've been renting (I know??!!) a camera for the weekends because Canon wants to hog my camera for a month. :-(No fair) and forces me to focus on other projects such as selling collectibles on eBay. Which isn't very creative but it's at least an adrenaline rush. What most people don't know is that it's quite time consuming and requires a lot of heavy research. And if you don't cover all your bases you can get seriously burned. I've reached 'top rated seller/power seller' status which is based on ratings, shipping and EXCELLENT customer service(and a lot of hard work). It keeps me busy, brings in some extra cash and the thrill at the end of any auction is a blast. I spend a lot of my time with ebay and I love it. In case you are curious to see what I have listed currently, check it out here http://www.ebay.com/sch/ggirl1969I also love the time spent with family and friends lately. I keep myself busy and everything I do is valuable to me which leads me to my quote of the week by Michael LeBouf:
'Waste your money, and you're only out of money, but waste you're time and you've lost a part of you're life.'
Every moment is a precious moment to me, but hey, if I want to kick my shoes off and chill with a glass of wine while staring at my dogs chasing their tail, that is not time wasted. That is enriching your life. And bringing your stress levels down a notch. Who doesn't want that?
